These photos were taken in the past seven years by Caroline Juler and members of Alburnus Maior, the main group which opposes the gold mine at Rosia Montana. They show the Apuseni Mountains in areas as yet unscathed by open-cast mining. Among them is a photo of a stream near Rosia Montana which was poisoned by chemicals used in the open-pit mine. To the right is a shot taken at one of the first protest meetings. Wrapped around a haystack, the banner says ‘We don’t want cyanide’
